The MintT solution in practice

How does the MintT sensor work?
The MintT sensor mounts on the wall or ceiling of the room. It monitors the resident's movements in real time and automatically sends an alert to caregiving staff in the event of a fall, a bed exit, or an extended absence.
What are the technical specifications of the sensors?
MintT's 3D sensors use Time-of-Flight technology to detect movement without producing an identifiable image. They run 24/7, need only a simple WiFi connection, and cover a standard room (20-25m²) with a single sensor.
Does the sensor also work at night, in the dark?
Yes, and it's essential: our sensors' 3D Time-of-Flight technology doesn't rely on visible light, so it's entirely independent of the room's lighting. Detection is just as accurate in complete darkness as in broad daylight, with no lighting needed in the room at all. This is a key point, since a large share of falls happen at night: your residents get reliable 24/7 monitoring without ever compromising their sleep or their privacy.
How many sensors are needed per room?
A single sensor is enough to cover an entire standard-size single room, up to 30 m². However, we recommend installing one sensor per bed, which refines bed-exit detection specific to each resident. For double rooms or larger spaces, several sensors can be installed to guarantee full coverage with no blind spots.

Confidentiality and compliance

How does our solution protect privacy?
Our system uses shape-detection technology with no RGB camera. The data processed is anonymized and cannot be used to visually identify a person. Residents' privacy is preserved at every moment.
Is the solution GDPR-compliant?
Yes, fully. MintT was designed around "privacy by design" principles: from the outset, our technology excludes any RGB camera and processes only anonymized shape data, with no facial recognition or possible visual identification. We apply a strict data-minimization policy, restricted and fully logged access, and secure European hosting. Your facility has all the documentation needed to meet its Data Protection Officer's (DPO) requirements and demonstrate compliance to authorities and families.
Where is the data generated by the sensors stored?
All data is hosted in Europe, on infrastructure compliant with healthcare-sector standards (including health data hosting, HDS, in France). It is encrypted at rest and in transit, and access is strictly controlled and logged. We adapt to the specific regulatory requirements of each country and each facility.
Who can access the visual-verification video sequences?
Only authorized caregiving staff can access them, through an individual, authenticated account: each caregiver has their own credentials, and every viewing is logged. These sequences serve a single purpose: letting the care team quickly resolve a doubt, adapt care, and better understand the resident's condition. No access is possible outside this strictly defined scope.

Setting up in your facility

What infrastructure is needed to install the sensors?
Installation is simple and fast. An existing WiFi network and a power outlet are enough. No complex wiring is required. Our technical team handles the full installation and configuration of the system.
How long does it take to install a sensor?
Installation is very quick: screw in the wall mount, attach the sensor, plug it in — and it's operational. No complex wiring, no disruption for residents.
How long does installation take for an entire facility?
Very little, at the scale of a facility: a 30-bed unit can be fully equipped in a single day. Installation is the same for every room — mounting a wall bracket, attaching the sensor, plugging it in — with no complex wiring or construction work. Your residents and staff experience no interruption to daily activity during deployment.
Is the system compatible with our existing DECT infrastructure?
Yes, absolutely: our system is designed from the ground up to integrate natively with your DECT infrastructure. Alerts are sent directly to the DECT handsets already used by your teams, exactly like a standard nurse call. No new communication equipment is needed, which simplifies deployment and staff adoption.
Is training provided for caregiving staff?
Yes, systematically. At launch, we run a full training session for your teams: we explain how the system works and present the full set of tools available to caregivers. User guides as well as presentation and explainer videos remain permanently available afterward, to support new hires and serve as a day-to-day reference.

In service of care teams

What is the delay between detecting a fall and the alert?
Less than 30 seconds pass between detecting a fall and transmitting the alert to staff. This speed is decisive: the faster the intervention, the more limited the consequences of a fall for the resident.
What is the detection reliability rate?
Our reliability rate is the best on the market. For a fall-detection solution to be truly useful, staff must be able to trust it completely: an undetected fall puts that trust at risk, just as repeated false alarms make the system unusable day to day. Thanks to the AI validation mechanisms we've developed and refined in the field for over 10 years, we're proud to offer our clients the most reliable detection in the industry.
How does staff receive alerts?
The system is fully configurable to your needs: alerts can be sent by phone, to the department's DECT handsets, by SMS, or integrated directly into your existing nurse-call system. Each facility chooses the channel — or combination of channels — best suited to how its teams are organized.
What technical support is available after installation?
A support team is available 24/7 to answer any technical question. Beyond this responsive support, a dedicated Customer Success Manager (CSM) is assigned to your facility: they follow up on the system's proper operation over time and look after your satisfaction, from installation through day-to-day use.
