VRT NWS reports on Mintt and its installation in the residential care centre Hof Ten Doenberghe in Hoeilaart, the first facility in Flanders to be equipped with our system. In such a facility, falls are unfortunately common, but our system has succeeded in putting everyone at ease.

"Within a minute to a minute and a half after the fall, we can be on-site to help people"

"When residents fall, they may stay on the ground for a long time, which can make injuries or lesions worse. By working with fall detection system, this can be addressed. The system registers when a resident falls and immediately alerts nursing staff. This is done via an infrared sensor placed in the residents' rooms.

The fall detection system has multiple purposes. "Within a minute to a minute and a half after the fall, we can be on-site to help people, and we can find out how the person fell. This allows us to work more preventively," says Eggerickx. "Of course, we can never avoid a fall, but we are going to find out the causes and react faster so there are fewer serious injuries." In addition, the system also works to reassure staff."
